Singapore 28 August 2017 - Containerchain, creator of cloud-based software solutions for automating and synchronising operations across the container logistics industry, today announced that its Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer, Chris Collins, will be stepping into the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
Founder and CEO, Tony Paldano, sees the new role as critical for ensuring the company reaches its growth potential. “The container logistics industry is increasingly talking about the positive impact of digitalisation on its profitability. There’s a growing sense of urgency to transform the old, effort-intensive ways of doing business with savvier twenty-first century digital thinking, and it’s this growing momentum that’s creating new customers for Containerchain in every corner of the globe. To ensure we’re ready to make the most of every opportunity, we’ve created a new ‘Office of the CEO’ in which the Chief Operating Officer will play a critical role,” Mr. Paldano said.
Chris Collins joined the company in 2016 after steering it through its strategic investment round. He has a 15-year career in corporate advisory, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance and business strategy globally, including 10 years with PwC as part of its global advisory business focussed on transport and logistics.
“This is an exciting business at a threshold moment. With a technology platform and suite of products that serve to create value and efficiency for the entire landside logistics supply chain Containerchain is well positioned to become the pre-eminent provider of productivity solutions to the container transport and logistics industry. I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to continuing to work closely with Tony, the Board, and the rest of the Executive team to execute our vision,” Mr. Collins said.
In his new role, Mr. Collins will assume executive oversight for Containerchain’s Europe and Malaysia divisions, global Terminal solutions business, as well as lead the company’s Strategy & Corporate Development, Sales & Marketing, Legal, and HR functions. In addition, he will be responsible for engagement, management, and communication with Containerchain’s Board and shareholders.
